Here is a plan for doing just that--- promote your affiliate product and never spend a dime in advertising. 1. We begin by writing an article. Here is a plan for doing just that--- promote your affiliate product and never spend a dime in advertising. 1. We begin by writing an article. Articles are one of the oldest and most trusted ways of spreading the word about your affiliate product on the net. Getting an article published is simple, even if you are not a particularly gifted writer. But--- don't be too brash with your affiliate promotion in your article. Publish your article in the top five or six article directories. Then, rewrite your article and publish in the next ten to twenty most popular directories. The purpose of the rewrite is to prevent the search engines from clobbering you with a duplicate content penalty. Follow this iron rule: Never, EVER talk about your product in your article. Talk about your niche instead. For example, if your niche is building doll houses, then give the reader good advice on solving common problems in that field. Good quality article directories (and you should ONLY deal with the best) do not like blatant affiliate program sales promotions. Be subtle! It's a question of giving, and only then taking. Give the reader good information, and you might be rewarded with a click. Your website address goes in the resource box at the foot of the article--- use a top level domain only. You can earn real money with this strategy. But hold on--- there's more! 2. Now re-write your article as a tutorial. Educational and tutorial sites like eHow are great places to publish this sort of content. To turn your article into a tutorial, you will need to change the wording and the lay-out to give it more of a "how-to" feel. Very few article writers would ever think to take advantage of the good traffic that tutorial sites get. And... it's FREE. 3. Very few article writers would ever think to take advantage of the good traffic that tutorial sites get. And... it's FREE. 3. Having made your article into a tutorial, now turn THAT into a Powerpoint presentation, being sure to include your URL. Submit it to Slideshare and similar sites, and find yourself with yet another traffic source that comes to you... totally free. 4. And finally turn your Powerpoint into a video. You can still do this for free using CamStudio, or you can trade up a step and use Camtasia. You can make your video fresh, if you like, but since you already have the Powerpoint, why not recycle your work by simply adding a voiceover? Use your own voice if you like (it's free, after all!), or outsource this if you think you lack dramatic flair. If that is not good enough for you, you could try a monthly paid service called Article Video Robot. They turn articles into video complete with background music and voice over. Never having used them, I will not comment on their work. You could give them a try, and then tell the rest of us. What are your overall results now? Well, you wrote one article, and published it in four different formats! There are plenty of other sources of free traffic. Article directories and social bookmarking sites are among the most popular, but they are only the tip of a very large iceberg. If you can convert an article into some non-article format, there is likely to be a way to get it out into the public view for free. Pdf.'s, .exe files and RSS feeds are all alternative ways to publish your words. I'll leave you to explore these on your own. A final word: Write your articles and then publish them in as many formats as you can, and you can earn real money in affiliate program sales.
