The iMac's recent innovations like the new NVIDIA chipset graphics feature and the ultra-thin keyboard has gotten it a lot of attention. While other brands like Dell, HP and Sony develop their all-in-one desktop computers sporting the new glossy look and the futuristic features, the iMacs stay a step ahead of them developing cutting edge style and technologies that make the consumer choose the iMac. iMac's overall performance and features alone put it ahead of the similarly priced competitor products, but they take it another step with the stunning aesthetic features. The new iMac did away with the snow-white case and is wrapped in a sleek looking solid chunk of anodized aluminum that makes it look even thinner. The side-to-side gl*** covered display makes the image show bright and crisp. Like on the famous MacBook and the MacBook Pro, the gl*** on the front of the iMac's display gives a much reflective quality. The iMac now comes with wider displays as an answer to the trend for widening displays among computer makers. In doing so, iMac practically abandoned its old 17-inch display which they first replaced with 20 and 24 inches sizes and lately, they came out with the new standard display of 16:9 wide screens in 21.5" and 27" models. The iMac's 27" model has a digital video input port that allows the display for other systems or devices. As a standard on the iMac, iSight camera sits hidden under the glossy gl*** display, perfectly blended with the screen's black border. The iSite camera provides quality video and stills in the 640px x 480px size. An integrated multi-directional microphone picks up sound through eig |

The iSite camera provides quality video and stills in the 640px x 480px size. An integrated multi-directional microphone picks up sound through eight tiny, human-hair-sized, laser cut holes arranged in a flower pattern at the top of the aluminum case. The new iMac's video card option switched to ATI, except for the NVIDIA card which is still standard in the base model. The processor has significantly increased from the existing Core 2 Duo in the lower model to the new Core i5 and Core i7 chips on the higher model, transitioning into the first quad-core iMac. The iMac's memory capacity has also increased to 16GB. iMac's new keyboard is getting a lot of attention for it's radical design. It looks a lot like the keyboard on it's portable sibling, the MacBook. The keys have been arranged and mounted into a minimalist, low-profile aluminum base that matches to the aluminum iMac case. It is also praised for it's ergonomics allowing for a more natural arched position of the wrists and hands. It is self evident that the features and design aspects of the new iMac makes for a no-brainer all-in-one desktop choice to switch to.
